You might think, how does this relate to new beginnings? Well in order to maintain a sense of relevance in today’s world it is important to continue to refine and revisit my presence in the world. I ask myself, how can I best be a part of the community in which I live and my answer is often by maintaining my health and connection with my body and the community at large. I accomplish this by being willing to examine my past and respond to the present day needs.
One of the ways I do this is by deciding how I can continue to keep my body moving. I am one of those people who was born to move and when I don’t I suffer for it. My body requires diligent applications of exercise in various forms in order to operate at a high level. I never realized how closely I resemble a Dalmatian in my physical needs. I too need to be run on a regular basis in order to sleep well and have strong fluid joints. I need to walk and bend and jump and stretch and swing my arms in order to keep all my parts in prime moving condition.
Living in today’s busy techno-centric world can force me to be extremely flexible in meeting my movement needs, thus the emphasis on new beginnings. If I approach my goal of movement on a day-by-day basis it is much more likely I will be able to get those needs met, staying spontaneous and prepared to go outside my personal box of limitations.
